A line-up of talented classical musicians from Viet
Nam and the US will gather to perform at the first Vietnamese American
Music Festival, which will start in Ha Noi and HCM City this week.
The Saigon Chamber Music''s second season, a
week-long summer music festival and intensive training course for young
musicians, will take place from August 1 to 9 at the HCM City
Conservatory of Music.
Award-winning singers will perform at a charity concert on October 18
to raise money for needy children in the northern mountainous province
of Hoa Binh.
Classical music lovers can appreciate some of the
genre''s canonical works by composers Vivaldi, Bartok and Astor Piazzolla
at the J-Classic on October 4 in Ha Noi.
Quach Hoang Nhi, from the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, won first
prize in the third Mozart International Piano Contest, which ended in
Bangkok on Thursday.
Violist Nguyen Huu Nguyen, soloist with the French National Orchestra,
and his friends will perform a chamber music concert at the HCM City
Conservatory on Friday.
A night of Chopin will be performed by pianist Krystian Tkaczewski at
the Viet Nam National Academy of Music (VNAM), 77 Hao Nam Street, Ha
Noi, on Thursday.
The acclaimed Munich Symphony Orchestra will perform
concerts at the Viet Nam National Academy of Music this weekend and at
the Ha Noi Opera House next Thursday and Friday as part of events to
celebrate Europe Day in Viet Nam.
Budget limitations resulted in few foreign
competitors participating in the recently held International Piano
Contest in Ha Noi, according to an organiser of the competition.
